You’ll just have to get used to me calling you that. I’ve got 17 grands and they’re all special to me. I call every one of them ‘honey’ and now – well – I’ve just added you to the group. That gives you an extra Nana. I’m warning you right up front – this is a long letter to you – so get comfortable with something to drink.
A lot of people discourage kids visiting their websites unless the site has something to do with homeschooling or is related to some homework assignment or something like that. Here – this section is devoted just to grands and it’s a two-way street. You’re invited to speak up and make comments and ask questions anytime you like. I’ll try to give you honest answers.
Obviously, you’re here because you have grandparents. I don’t know how many – could be only one – or in today’s world – could be a lot of them. Grandparents are all different, as I’m sure you’re aware. When they start aging, it affects the whole family and that’s why I started this site.
It’s important to learn about some of the difficulties grandparents go through as they age. (Heck – everyone goes through these things whether they are grandparents or not.) And yes – part of learning about them is a chance for you to evaluate what you see and make some decisions about things you do and don’t want to do when you get to be that age.
The other part of watching your grandparents age is watching how it affects your parents, especially the child of the grandparent. This again, let’s you decide how you will care for your parents someday.
One of the things that will drive you crazy is how much of what is happening that both groups try to keep you from knowing about. And that’s because they love you and don’t want to cause you stress or worry you. Meantime, not knowing worries you more. So, I’ll be trying to talk to both groups about letting you know more about what is going on.
I know lots of time I don’t want to discuss what is happening with my grandchildren not because I don’t want them to know, but because I like to have someone in the family that I can just enjoy being a Nana with. But if any of the grands come out and asks questions about something, I do try to give them honest answers. And since I’ve now added you to the group, I’ll do the same with you.
Communicating on a website is somewhat difficult and I want to ask you if you would like me to open a Facebook group just for the grands where we can interact more easily. Do you like that idea? (No sense doing it if no one wants it). Do let me know. Also, if you do want one – do you want it an open one or a private one? Add that to your answer, please.
I’m working on learning to do videos – thanks to a grandson who has been showing me how – so I’ll try to have some of them along the way so you don’t get so tired reading all this stuff.
Anyway – that’s enough for a start. I’m glad you stopped in. I really want to get to know you better, so do use that comment box below. Oh yes, the Nana’s News is pretty generic with information right now that is good for all 3 generations, so I hope you’ll sign up for it too. I only send it out once a week – usually, Friday and the same one again on Saturday – both around 8 pm. I don’t sell stuff in the News – if I’m selling something it will be in a separate email titled Nana’s Sales. Oops – almost forgot. There’s a Prayer Page – find it on the top menu – and you’re welcome to use it anytime. Just read and follow the instructions, please.
Sending you out with –
Love, Hugs, and Prayers,
Scripture today: (yes – there will be one with every post. 😉 )
“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you;
plans to give you hope and a future.”
